About the Role

The Customer Success team at SAS is seeking a Customer Success Renewal Specialist to enhance our customer retention and renewal strategy. This role will focus on ensuring timely execution of renewal processes and contracts, designing and implementing programs that optimize our customer relationship strategies, and boosting both the effectiveness and efficiency of our loyalty and retention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute win/win negotiation strategies for complex contract renewals that optimize contract terms while protecting and enhancing customer trust.
  • Own, drive, and manage the renewals process in collaboration with the account team.
  • Ensure successful and on-time renewals for assigned accounts prior to the contract end date and execute all renewal back-end work in a timely manner.
  • Present renewal proposals and options to customers and notify them proactively of upcoming contract expirations.
  • Partner with Account Executives/CSMs/Enterprise Negotiations, Licensing Operations, and Sales Operations to fully understand and develop a clear renewal strategy for each customer ahead of the renewal date.
  • Provide rapid, focused responses to customer/CSM requests, including sales processing procedures.
  • Identify customer requirements, uncover roadblocks, and demonstrate strong account management and commercial capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure.
  • Secure and validate renewal orders, driving maximum renewal and up-selling from the install base, including confirming the delivery of quotes to partners/end customers and facilitating order processing and approval of purchase orders.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or business subject (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Proven record of complex solution selling.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of software licensing concept procedures.
  • Ability to work and learn independently, with demonstrated ability to interact productively with all levels of staff.
  • Understanding of strategic sales techniques and principles, specifically in the hardware and software industry, as well as selling to Fortune 500 companies and/or large governmental institutions.
