Strategic Intelligence Lead

A key role within the Corporate Strategy and M&A team, the Head of Strategic Intelligence will be responsible for providing high-quality economic, market, and competitive intelligence to empower fact-based decision making for ABB's CEO and executive management.
Key Responsibilities- Derive strategic implications of economic, market, and competitive events for ABB and develop recommendations for action.
- Monitor, report, and interpret performance and strategic actions of ABB competition, including quarterly benchmarking.
- Update top management on key events and trends in ABB's strategic operating environment via regular written updates and presentations.
- Provide reference economic and market outlook data, which also serves as input to ABB's short and long-term planning and performance management.
- Enable knowledge sharing and collaboration for ABB's distributed strategic intelligence network.
- Negotiate cross-unit/frame agreements with external data and intelligence providers.
- Recruit, train, and develop junior team members.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field, e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, e.g. in corporate strategy, competitive and/or market intelligence or strategy consulting.
- Experience in economic, market, and competitive analyses and/or commercial due diligence a strong plus.
- Proven ability to quickly solve complex problems in a pragmatic manner, incl. framing/planning, synthesis, and communication.
- Experience in engaging and working with senior management, and skills to convince senior leaders in an insightful manner.
- Ability to effectively guide and leverage large stakeholder networks across different levels, functions, and countries without formal reporting relationships.
- Proactively prioritize and make tradeoffs in a semi-quantitative environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Good understanding of industrial space and ABB's markets.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, international, and increasingly digital work environment.
