**About the department**
Commercial Excellence & Sales Support is a new department in Commercial Operations at SHL Medical AG. The department drives the commercial strategy, leads commercial excellence initiatives, and supports sales and marketing operations on complex projects and value-adding activities along the sales process and customer journey.
**Job Overview**
In this role you will be a key driver in developing, executing, and implementing the commercial strategy and commercial excellence initiatives through close collaboration with the entire commercial organization (e.g., pricing and analytics, account management, market intelligence, marketing etc.) and other functions (e.g., technology, finance, corporate strategy, supply chain etc.) on a global level. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in supporting the sales organization with complex commercial projects. In your work, you will have a strong focus on (strategic) pricing and commercial topics.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Commercial Strategy: Establish and define key strategic commercial priorities, continue to shape and develop commercial strategy, take lead in driving the commercial strategy process in close collaboration with the your immediate team members, the commercial organization, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Commercial Excellence: Lead and execute a breadth of commercial excellence initiatives. Secure implementation of projects, including but not limited to setting up a mechanism to motivate and engage the organisation around these. Track progress, provide transparency, and ensure impact creation of projects as per the defined goals. Examples of potential initiatives: Development of an overall pricing strategy and roadmap, implementation of new pricing approaches and business models, development of pricing calculators for use by account managers, management of organizational wide pricing campaigns etc.
- Sales Support: With a strong focus on pricing and commercial topics, drive processes for complex proposals, negotiations, and other activities along the sales cycle aimed at specific customers or prospects. Includes content development, project management, and stakeholder management on a global level and across functions. Exact topics and assignments may vary, and it will be expected to support on ad hoc operational topics if needed.
This position reports to the Global Head of Commercial Excellence & Sales Support, who in turn reports directly into the Chief Commercial Officer. The position is based in our headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. A mix of home-office and presence in our headquarters is possible. Approximately 10 - 20% global travel is expected.
**Skills and Qualification**:
We are looking for an individual that is excited about shaping this newly established role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ideally, you meet the following qualifications and bring with you a minimum of five years of work experience:
- **Education**: Master of Science in business and /or economics with top grades from a leading university.
- **Commercial Expertise**: Experience in strategy, marketing, sales and / or account management with deep knowledge, high-level of passion, and solid experience in (strategic) pricing and commercial topics.
- **Industry Knowledge**:Working in or with B2B industries that have complex and technical products, with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders. Preferably, gained experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medtech, and / or drug delivery device industry.
- **Consulting Toolkit**: Strong consulting toolkit, either from working in a strategy consultancy (preferred) or non-consulting environment (e.g., corporate strategy / business development department etc.) where similar skills were acquired and demonstrated.
- **Commercial Excellence**: Previous demonstrated impact in driving commercial strategy processes and executing commercial excellence projects in a global environment, as well as the management of complex commercial customer-facing projects.
