About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Executive Business Development Lead to spearhead our business growth initiatives in the Bay Area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating strong relationships with clients, and developing strategic plans to drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities within specified client accounts.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within the account and develop deep knowledge of the account organization.
  • Analyze potential opportunities and develop detailed business plans and sales strategies for each client account.
  • Identify and respond to client needs to define potential PSI opportunities and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Work with Operations to identify the right sales team and prepare presentations, educating team participants on client culture, operational needs/methods, and sales techniques needed to close the sale.
  • Lead the entire sales process, including identifying the appropriate team for pitches and preparing and leading sales presentations.
  • Coordinate with the Proposal Development Group to develop proposals and Operations to finalize strategy and pricing.
  • Handle follow-up related to sales and facilitate completion of contractual documents.
  • Ensure a smooth hand-off to project teams by transferring knowledge on client needs and expectations.
  • Share client strategies and sales plans with Project Directors/Managers.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers/Directors and Operations to address client issues/concerns promptly.
  • Seek input from Project Managers/Directors to proactively address changes in scope, new opportunities, or client dissatisfaction.
  • Work with Project Manager/Director and Operations to ensure Changes in Scope (CIS's) are negotiated appropriately with clients.
  • Maintain high visibility within client organizations.
  • Monitor client satisfaction through regular formal and informal surveys.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers/Directors to ensure client needs are met and address concerns/issues in a timely manner.
  • Review proposals and analyze requests for proposals and protocols.
  • Attend industry events, set up meetings at events, and perform follow-up with potential clients.
  • Act as a liaison between Bay Area clients and Operations as needed.
Requirements
  • University degree in health sciences or an equivalent combination of education, training & experience.
  • Demonstrable competency in sales or business development preferably for a Contract Research Organization or company providing services to the healthcare industry.
  • 3 - 5 years of business development experience in the CRO sales arena.
  • Working proficiency with Salesforce.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Capable and willing to travel.

The estimated salary range for this position is $100K-$500K per year, commensurate with experience.
