Business Development Manager

We have ignited a transformation that will see VCLS expanding our service offering, deepening our client relationships, acquiring new clients and this role reflects our ambition to deepen our presence in Switzerland.

Role Overview

We are seeking a relationship-driven Business Development Manager to be based in and to lead our efforts in Basel. This role is critical in driving business growth, establishing strong client relationships, and expanding our market presence in the life sciences sector and will see you:

  1. Collaborate with Senior Management, BU Heads and Marketing to develop and execute a strategic and ambitious business development plan for the Swiss region.
  2. Achieve Sales targets and profit margins by identifying and pursuing attractive new business development opportunities for all of VCLS Services.
  3. Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders (clients, partners, VCLS experts, industry leaders etc).
  4. Leverage local and global VCLS assets (including VCLS experts, Neighborhood start-up incubation, Marketing, etc) to further embed VCLS in the Swiss Life Science ecosystem and secure a unique positioning.
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally within VCLS group to develop, communicate and deliver bespoke, client-centric solutions.
  6. Build Proposals and Manage commercial agreements and commercial relationships.
  7. Be the face of VCLS at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities.
  8. Manage, track and report commercial performance.
  9. Offer client market insight and client feedback to ensure senior management understands and proactively responds to client needs and market trends.
