Healthcare Portfolio Manager for International Development Projects

About SolidarMed

We offer an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to manage our health projects in Mozambique. Based in Lucerne, Switzerland, you will oversee the implementation of programs and develop strategies to improve healthcare outcomes.

Your Role

  • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the country program, collaborating with the local team
  • Manage project cycles, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and log-frame development
  • Review and support humanitarian and security activities to ensure effective implementation and safety of local health programs
  • Oversee key projects, supervise annual operational plans, and track budget execution
  • Collaborate with the country team to develop new project proposals and identify funding opportunities
  • Manage relationships with key donors and partner organizations
  • Assume human resource management, financial management, and administrative responsibilities, working closely with the Finances & Services team
  • Contribute to new project developments, evaluation reviews, and knowledge management as part of the International Programmes Team

Requirements

  • Masters-level degree or higher in a health-related or development field
  • Proven expertise in health/public health and humanitarian/development issues in low-resource settings
  • Experience implementing projects in fragile and humanitarian contexts
  • At least four years of hands-on project management experience in South-eastern Africa
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record in supporting teams to deliver on short- and long-term objectives
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in dynamic environments and manage multiple demands
  • Experience reviewing and writing technical proposals and project reports for institutional donors and knowledge management
  • Fluency in English and conversance in German; conversance in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, or French is essential
  • Swiss or EU National, or existing valid work permit for Switzerland
