Viking Cruise Line is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Waiter/ess to join our team. As a Bar Waiter/ess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the efficient operation of beverage services in assigned food and beverage areas.
- Create a friendly and guest-oriented service culture to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business.
- Take ownership of assigned station, serving drinks and assisting with preparing cocktails according to company standards.
- Ensure all guests are charged according to company standards and account procedures.
- Set up assigned areas according to direction from supervisors and Viking's Operations Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow service procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures, Departmental Service Standards, and all applicable Public Health Policies.
- Prepare and operate F&B activities in all outlets, ensuring all activities are prepared and executed according to company standards.
- Minimize equipment loss/damage and maintain immaculate cleanliness standards in relevant areas.
- Participate in daily reunions to understand team operational needs and ensure consistent adherence to Viking's STAR Service Standards.
- Provide the highest level of comfort and sales-oriented service to guests, maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Uphold impeccable grooming standards at all times, complying with Viking's Image and Uniform Standards.
- Ensure company property is appropriately secured and protected during rough weather conditions.
- Demonstrate outstanding flexibility, working at different times of the day, under pressure, and reflecting a positive can-do attitude.
- Become knowledgeable about itinerary-related ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
- Have strong motivation to achieve company goals and objectives for the Bar Department.
- Have full knowledge of safety and security procedures and operate in line with all Public Health, Environmental, and Safety and Security Policies.
- Assist in other departments and/or perform additional duties upon instruction from supervisors.
- A minimum of two years' experience as a Bar Waiter or similar position in an international premium brand hospitality and/or bar environment.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with excellent communication skills to clearly communicate with the Bar Team and Guests.
- Must be flexible, stress-resistant, and a committed team player with an exceptional work ethic.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards are required.
