Bar Waiter/ess

Viking Cruises is seeking a skilled Bar Waiter/ess to join our team on board our luxurious ships. As a key member of our Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve drinks in accordance with company standards, menus, and recipes.
- Operate the bar according to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure high levels of cleanliness in the bar, pantry, lounge, and sundeck in accordance with HACCP standards and public health policies.
- Control bar costs within budget, including establishing weekly stock orders and conducting inventory.
- Assist in organizing and executing F&B-related ship functions and special events.
- Participate in onboard training programs and daily departmental meetings, occasionally assist and rotate in the restaurant to work as Chef de Rang.
- Will be required to work 10-12 weeks straight on the ship followed by 3 weeks of vacation.
- 2 years' experience as a Bar Waiter/Bartender or similar at a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is an advantage.
- Must be 21+ years old; physically fit and in good health; must be able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards.
- Excellent knowledge of all public health policies.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations.
- Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for marijuana and other controlled substances. We are a Drug-Free and Alcohol-Free workplace.
- Viking Cruises is an At-Will Employer. As such, your employment with Viking is a voluntary one and is subject to termination with or without cause or notice, at any time by you or Viking.
