Network Operations Lead Supervisor

EVC unit is the central point for the delivery of all transmission and media on the network to Eurovision Services customers. EVC forms the most important interface to Eurovision Services clients, with regards to the service delivery of transmissions.
**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION**
The Network Operations Lead Supervisor is responsible for the smooth running of the control room.
He/she will define the procedures to be followed by the EVC team. Will coordinate the day-to-day activity in the MCR and will define workflows and best practices for the team. Will also spot inefficiencies and propose improvements. Will have close contact with EVC engineers, to be able to spot if there’s any knowledge gap that requires training for specific topics. Will propose measures to improve the EVC KPI’s, and will follow up if goals are achieved. A permanent and steady communication between the Lead Supervisor and EVC team is also a requirement.
The Network Operations Lead Supervisor will closely work with EVC staff and the Quality Management team, to ensure that all incidents are well logged, understandable, and will give technical and operational clarifications to other departments, in case an SIR is requested. Will report any major outage to the Manager of NOC.
When new deals or events are won, the Network Operations Lead Supervisor will be the relay point between CSP, EnT and EVC, making sure the documentation is updated, the handover with the key information is done, and the panels is containing the required information.
The Network Operations Lead Supervisor, although is not responsible for the rota, will have to oversee that the staffing level is enough for the traffic of the day/week, taking in consideration events, missions, etcand will suggest alternatives, respecting the local labour regulations.
When new projects will come, or by request of internal stakeholders, the Network Operations Lead Supervisor will need to participate on internal meetings and give advice about the technical solutions to implement on events or permanent services, prioritizing the most effective way to deliver the service.
The Network Operations Lead Supervisor contributes significantly to the smooth-running of network and the quality of services provided by the Operations department for all of its customers.
**EXPRERIENCES SKILLS**
5+ Years of experience working in an international broadcast environment
Proven experience with broadcast systems: Satellite communications, Fibre, IP.
Proven experience with MPEG compression and multiplexing, DVB-ASI, DVB-IP
Proven experience with signal switching and processing. ASI/SDI matrix, standard conversion, monitoring systems, quality assurance of video signals and able to identify anomalies.
Strong computer skills. Networking, streaming, first line maintenance.
Project management experience desired.
Good customer relations skills
Team player spirit and excellent collaboration skills
LANGUAGE - Proficient in English and French
