Job Title: Wok Chef

For a brand new 50 covers Asian fusion restaurant (predominantly Authentic Chinese cuisine), we are looking for a professional cook, Wok Chef.

The restaurant will open this winter (contract in working progress) in a great spot in the well-known 5* Hotel, an all-year-round destination.

The concept is authentic Chinese, maybe summer mixed with Japanese – more casual but the quality of food has to be top

We need professional cooks coming from busy Asian cuisine operations.

Requirements
  1. Prepare and cook a wide variety of Asian dishes using traditional wok cooking techniques.
  2. Ensure the highest quality and presentation of dishes, consistently meeting our culinary standards.
  3. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine recipes, ensuring a diverse and innovative menu.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized wok station, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  5. Monitor and manage inventory levels of wok station ingredients, placing orders as needed.
  6. Adapt to customer preferences and dietary restrictions while maintaining the authenticity of Asian flavors.
  7. Participate in the development of menu specials and promotions to attract and retain customers.
Applicant Requirements / Qualifications:
  1. Proven experience as a Wok Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment.
  2. Proficiency in traditional wok cooking techniques, including stir-frying and flipping.
  3. In-depth knowledge of Asian cuisine, ingredients, and flavors, with the ability to create authentic and innovative dishes.
  4. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  5. Excellent time management and multitasking skills, especially during peak dining hours.
  6. Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with kitchen staff.
  7. A creative and adaptable approach to cooking, able to tailor dishes to customer preferences.
  8. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment.
  9. Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not required.

Accommodation: Apartment/Studio is provided

Salary starting from: 5,500 CHF Gross or 4,500 NET per month plus 13th salary.

Only EU passport holders are possible due to the visa restrictions in Switzerland.
