**Head of Communications, Motion (flexible location)**:

In this position, you will lead, coach and support the communications function within ABB Motion in accordance with ABB brand and communications policies and guidelines. You will develop communications strategies, plans, and content to support the business strategy. Additionally, you will work and align the overall Motion direction related messages and communications across Motion and with the Divisions. The location of this role is open to all ABB Offices and reallocation is not needed.

**This position reports to**:
Business Area President, Motion

**Your responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership and best practices for respective functional area.
- Lead and develop team(s) and actively contribute to the development of the business organization as well as global Communications community.
- Represent Motion in group-wide communication projects and forums such communications Leadership Team.
- Lead, coach and support country communications in Motion led countries.
- Responsible for business-aligned communications strategy and plan for the respective functional area.
- Oversee messaging in line with corporate branding strategy
- Build a strong network across the business, as well as ABB Communications community.
- Coach Communications colleagues across teams and businesses.
- Actively contribute to cross-business and cross-functional communications projects.
- Collaborate with other leaders and teams in ABB. Communications to ensure communications excellence, relevance and consistency on messaging.
- Provide Senior Management (Business Area President and Business Area functional leaders) with targeted communications advise (e.g. personal communications materials including presentations, speeches, articles, and employee recognition).
- Own budget for respective communications team.
- Research and recommend communications programs and channels to maximize cost efficiency and minimize overlap among teams and businesses.
- Ensure (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.
- Guide, motivate and develop direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies.
- Evaluate, mentor and guide Business-level communications personnel to further develop capability and ensures deployment of resources commensurate with the size and objectives of each business.

**Your background**:

- 10+ years of experience in leading Communications in an international context.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Native level English language skills.
- People management experience.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Willingness to lead and to drive positive change in dynamic environment.
