Do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment with the "occasional" challenging deadline spurring you rather than putting you off? Do you like entering uncharted water territory? We're looking for someone like this to support the bank's busy and growing Global Family Offices Corporate and Institutional Clients (GFO C&IC) and the Global Lending Unit teams by giving clear and concise legal advice to our businesses and functions. Your role will cover both, lending and generic GFO related aspects. Lending aspects: - develop bespoke solutions and provide legal advice for complex (including unsecured) structured financings and transactions, often in a cross-border or cross-divisional context - provide legal advice with (i) drafting (or directing counsel for syndicated facilities) and negotiating the bespoke loan documentation; (ii) ensuring the bank has valid and enforceable security interests over various asset classes that serve as collateral; (iii) interacting with the internal and external (law firms, clients, syndicate banks) stakeholders. (incl engagement of local counsel if required) - legal guidance on the global strategic structured lending initiatives Generic GFO aspects: - validate initiatives related to UHNW & GFO businesses including assessment of related new business initiatives and complex transactions - support our global strategic initiatives and projects **Your Career Comeback** **Your team** You'll work in a cross-functional, global team in Legal Global Segments and Structured Lending team in Zurich (Dubai may also be an option). Together with the lending specialists in the bank we structure, negotiate and document a wide range of large and/or complex collateralized credit transactions tailored to the needs of the bank's sophisticated wealth management clients. We understand the issues that arise for the bank in creating and perfecting security interests in different types of collateral. So you can be working on a large single stock loan against listed equities the client has a strategic stake in one day and be concerned with lending against pre-IPO shares, art or commercial real estate the next and in a number of jurisdictions. It strengthens our business and brings value to our clients. **Your expertise** - a degree in law, qualification as an English solicitor or a Swiss lawyer, with at least 5 years post-qualification experience - proven experience in a similar position, either in private practice or in house, preferably with exposure to emerging markets - know how around lending and taking security and what it takes to get a deal done - familiarity with the Loan Markets Association documentation and market standards, including with syndicated loans - no difficulty in interacting directly with a large number of internal and external stakeholders at various levels and in delivering complex and high level messages effectively to them - creative and business minded yet always striking a balance between the business needs and the risk appetite of the bank - able to handle pressure and used to working to challenging deadlines - fluent in English and ideally in German - LI-UBS **About us** UBS is the world’s largest and only truly global wealth manager.
