**Media Relations Manager ABB Motion**:**

In this role you will be responsible to manage and nurture media relations for our Motion Business. Collaborate effectively with a global network of stakeholders, including the Motion Leadership Team and communications professionals across the business, as well as with ABB Group Communications.

**This position reports to**:
Head of Communications, Motion

**Your responsibilities**:

- Defines the media relations priorities to support the business strategy globally. Develops and drives the implementation of a coherent and consistent, integrated media relations plan and brand positioning in-line with the Motion communications strategy and ABB guidelines throughout the business.
- Develops, recommends and executes targeted media relations plans and messages - with the objective of engaging and inspiring key media stakeholders. Keeps target audience at the center of the communications plan to make the message as relevant as possible for each audience.
- Owns the press release and media monitoring processes.
- Ensures executional excellence throughout the area of accountability for all communications measures in line with the Motion communications strategy, brand positioning and corporate identity/corporate guidelines. Drives continuous improvement.
- Supports the business area president and other key management with personal communications materials including presentations, speeches, articles.
- Works closely and supports the Motion divisions in media relations.
- Works closely and supports the group media relations team.
- Owns budget for business area media relations activities. Researches and recommends communications programs and partners to maximize impact and cost efficiency. Manages the relationship with external service providers.
- Guides, motivates and supports colleagues in the Motion Communications Community globally

**Your background**:

- BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related
- minimum 8 years of experience in Communications with media relations
- Strong analytical/writing skills, able to support and own keynote presentations, executive talking points, media briefings
- Extensive media relations experience, thought leadership and crisis communications including well-versed in latest trends in digital communications.
- Native English speaker mandatory
- Excellent project management skills including budget and resource management
- Experience working with C-level and Executive Board members on positioning and profiling them externally
- Ability to flex between business/financial media and trade media with a clear understanding of the specific needs of different type of media
