What is the Global Financial Institutions team responsible for?
The team develop and execute strategies to strengthen partnerships with global financial institutions as well as other key institutions in Europe. The Director is responsible for leading and supporting key GFI relationships across EMEA with a primary focus on the Swiss Private Banks to ensure alignment with global and regional strategic initiatives. You will serve as the central point of contact for FT’s relationships with these private banks. The role will be focused on developing and strengthening relationships with the key individual at these private banks across research and senior business leaders. This individual will leverage these relationships to:
1. Understand the banks’ strategic priorities,
2. Develop in collaboration with various regions a comprehensive strategy in expanding the overall relationship based on the banks’ priorities,
3. Guide, direct and align distribution teams globally and locally to optimize growth and business outcomes for the firm overall and interact and partner with all internal leaders and sales to ensure execution of strategy and alignment across regional needs and prioritization,
4. This individual will build the appropriate relationships internally and externally to uncover opportunities that may or may not be visible to FT’s local teams.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Global Financial Institutions Director?
The role is a blend of sales, consultancy, and relationship management, acting as a key consultant to senior GFI contacts in the formulation of product and service recommendations, alignment against key internal resources to build relationship depth across organizations, and to manage complex sales and relationship initiatives.
- Principal Roles and Responsibilities:_- Develop strategic client plans/roadmaps in alignment with regional (sales, client service) and global (GFI) team members across all key GFI accounts in the APAC region- Ensure consistent global and regional execution of all strategic GFI initiatives and ensure that relationships are managed and orchestrated in a professional manner, with clear communications to all internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate and update Franklin Templeton leadership and C-Suite resources globally against GFI initiatives- Develop and manage relationships with key GFIs across all levels of the organization including product, strategy, and C-suite leadership. Align GFI relationships against internal resources to provide global and regional perspective, industry insight, knowledge transfer, and product solutions.- Create opportunities with GFI clients through conversations and interaction, expanding the range of existing opportunities to encompass a wider range of strategic product solutions, with the objective to position Franklin Templeton as an internal thought leader and long-term partner.- Be responsible for the oversight and direction of product and service proposals to ensure that enterprise economics work in favor of both parties. Remain aware of the risk profiles of GFI clients and align product and service solutions against their unique requirements.- Act as the GFI’s primary regional point of contact for complex enquiries and support customer needs in relation to established equity, credit, private market and hedge fund products.- Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the unique requirements of GFI clients in EMEA and the unique regulatory and product demands of EMEA markets to ensure product alignment and compliance.- Collaboration with internal subsidiaries and stakeholders including diverse sales, product management and marketing teams will be essential.
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?- Ten plus years of relevant experience in client-facing leadership roles within asset management, wealth management, or broader financial institution.- Experience in working with Global Banks and other Global Financial Institutions and exhibit a strong understanding of global markets and investment products- Understanding of GFI strategy and how it relates to product and sales for each of our strategic clients- Partnering with cross functional teams and internal stakeholders, sales teams and client service teams to influence overall growth- Ability to collaborate and influence a global sales organization to deliver a holistic offering to our clients- Ability to establish goals and work within a team to achieve results both on an individual and firm/team level- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal- Provide effective and persuasive presentations to both internal stakeholders and clients- Undergraduate degree required and a CFA certification a strong plus
