Serpentine Ventures (SERV) is the investment arm of the Swiss Startup Group (SSUG). SERV was founded by experienced entrepreneurs as well as financial services professionals and works with exceptional entrepreneurial talent to build and invest in technology driven ventures. SERV expands its capabilities by selectively recruiting and adding distinctive talent and hence, is looking for a Legal Counsel (Associate/Director) to strengthen its team.

Tasks
- Lead transactions from due diligence to closing with regards to legal matters
- Review of investment targets from a legal point of view
- Take full responsibility in establishing, reviewing and maintaining legal documentation
- Provide legal support and advice to Portfolio Managers related to existing investments (ie. follow on transactions, exits).
- Work closely with stakeholders of the ecosystem of SSUG and our partners (e.g. law firms, tax experts, software suppliers) and take full responsibility for projects
- Work directly with the Executive Team on general legal matters on a corporate level
- Support structuring of new Investment Products

**Requirements**:

- Swiss university degree (lic. iur./MLaw); admission to the bar not required (but a plus)
- Good knowledge and experience in the areas of corporate law, venture capital/start-up’s and M&A including financing rounds, exits, convertible loans, shareholders' agreements and employee incentive plans
- 3+ years' professional experience (e.g. in a law firm or as inhouse counsel) in Venture Capital or in a start-up environment
- Enthusiasm for entrepreneurship
- High attention to detail and can-do mindset
- Ability to self organize and work independently
- Effective communication both orally and in written
- Fluency in English, German and French advantageous
- Ability to work in Switzerland
