Job Purpose

The Shore Excursions Operations Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the MSC product development process and operations. Key responsibilities include supervising strategic planning and bidding for tour operator appointments, ensuring operational delivery quality in ports of call, and driving team performance in assigned geographical areas.

Key AccountabilitiesProduct Management & Development

• Supervise the procurement process through periodic bids to select local operators offering the best cost-effectiveness and quality standards, in coordination with Shore Excursions Product development teams.

• Monitor the performance of Shore excursions in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Corporate Tour Managers to determine optimal selling prices and ensure cost containment, developing year-over-year analyses of pricing, tour mix, inventory, and historical sales.

• Ensure shore excursions programs align with company requirements and track results with the Shore Excursions Customer Experience Manager, reviewing and investigating high-priority problem issues, implementing processes to reduce future risks, and driving continuous improvement.

Operation Handling

• Lead the operational process between shoreside and onboard teams.

• Coordinate with ships and operators, in conjunction with Corporate Tour Managers and Operational offices, to resolve operational issues, including guest accidents, service issues, last-minute program revisions, cancellations, or changes in port of call.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience, with cruise management experience being a must.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to speak additional languages such as Italian, Spanish, French, or German being an advantage.

• Effective management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.

• Advanced computer software skills, including Microsoft Office tools.

This position involves 30% travel time.
