Senior Operations Manager

The role of the Commercial Operations Manager at MKS PAMP is to oversee the efficient, accurate, and secure management of precious metals operations for a diverse range of clients. This involves leading and developing a team of operations professionals, maintaining high standards of operational excellence and compliance, and optimizing processes to meet and exceed client expectations and organizational goals.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Direct and support a team of operations professionals managing diverse client streams, including producers, industrials, high-end branded corporates, financial institutions, and bullion dealers.
- Mentor team members, providing guidance and motivation to exceed organizational objectives through continuous development and performance management.
- Manage daily operational tasks such as reconciliations, deliveries, pricing, invoicing, and payments to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Oversee the complete and accurate management of precious metals deliveries, ensuring all documentation is correctly issued and received.
- Monitor and reconcile client trade accounts, market positions, and balances to maintain financial integrity.
- Develop and implement procedures for onboarding new client accounts, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.
- Enhance communication with key departments such as relationship management, production, logistics, treasury, trading, and back office to ensure cohesive operations.
- Establish and refine operational procedures in collaboration with the COO, setting and tracking key performance indicators to gauge and further improve operational success.
- Work with other departments to design and refine processes, aiming to boost the effectiveness and efficiency of existing operations.
- Partner with IT project managers to develop or upgrade technological tools and software that support and enhance client operations, driving digital transformation and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, finance or another relevant field
- 5-7 years of work experience, preferably in commodities trading house or financial institution
- Excellent leadership skills and high drive
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation
- Sense of responsibility and initiative
- Ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement and innovative thinking both in approach and in practical effect
- Resistance to stress and time pressure
- Agile and flexible mindset, reactive to requests
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity
- Good IT skills; proficiency in Windows environment is expected
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and French is required; knowledge of other languages is an asset
- Swiss or EU national or holder of a valid Swiss working permit
