**Presentation**:
A fully-funded **PhD position** is available in the Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics (IDyST) at the University of Lausanne, **focussing on understanding Quaternary sedimentary dynamics at the global scale.**

The Faculty of Geosciences and the Environment at the University of Lausanne offers state-of-the-art super-computing facilities.

Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years

Activity rate : 80%

Workplace : Lausanne Mouline (Geopolis)

**Your responsibilities**:
The main responsibilities of the post will be dedicated to PhD research on understanding Quaternary sediment dynamics at the global scale, including development and compilation of a database as well as data interrogation using numerical methods.

A smaller part of the engagement (20%) will be dedicated to supporting the activities of the Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics including tasks such as the organization of seminars or providing teaching support.

**Your qualifications**:
MSc degree in quantitative geosciences or data science

Interest in palaeo-environmental change.

GIS and geospatial data analysis skills

Good command of written and spoken English. Working knowledge of French is not necessary, but would be advantageous.
