We have an exciting opportunity for an **Executive Director (ED), Business Development** within our newly formed group, Real World Evidence/Data (RWE/D). Since our recent acquisition of CorEvitas, we have identified an opportunity to launch this new group, combining Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and Real World Evidence and Data Solutions (RWDS) efforts.
The ED, Business Development will lead business development representatives to secure and retain business for PPD through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers at new clinical sponsors. This role will position the organisation as a primary or preferred provider for RWE work. The successful individual will mentor and train staff to appropriately qualify deals and develop the proposals including defining the solution and development of associated fees to meet strategic company goals. The ED will develop, implement and communicate business development strategy for the region/area and gather data on marketing trends and competitive products/services and pricing.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in science or business
- Proven sales history with breadth of domestic geographic responsibility
- 15+ years experience in CRO, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device sales or 20+ years related experience in the Pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
- Prior experience with account management or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record of developing mid

- level business contacts. Ability to manage and fully integrate with Operations, Finance, Bids and Contracts and Marketing, and follow-up to expand relationships and business opportunities.
- Skills to identify and develop sales leads, professionally present capabilities, manage the sales process through close and handle all aspects of contract negotiations.
