**Global Market Access Lead**:

**Primary Job Function**:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide Market Access, Pricing and Health Care System dynamics input into portfolio expansion business cases as well as to support development of the Global brands value proposition in cross functional alignment with other access departments. Further, the role will develop global market access strategy for priority Global launch brands and coordinate with Global Pricing prior to launch to define Global Pricing Guidance for Global and multi-country brands.
**Core Job Responsibilities**:
- Provides consultative support to the business, including Franchisees, on all Pricing & Reimbursement (P&R) related matters
- Designs, implements and manages of global access initiatives, new access algorithms and methodologies across Abbott core markets
- Leads the development of Abbott access systems (Launch Excellence, Access portal etc.) and capabilities with accurate and integrated data, to enable proactive insights, decision analytics, forecasting
- Oversight of Market Access regulations (pricing, reimbursement, drug listing, payer guidelines, coverage) across EPD markets for Global and key regional products
- Ramps up capabilities in P&R through skills development and training
- Collaborates with Regional, Area and LOC access teams to ensure timely pricing data collection and validation
- Develops access tools, P&R metrics, pricing reports to upgrade insights to enable strategic decision-making
- Maintains a high level of expertise on future trends in healthcare and critical developments in the P&R environment globally and in key emerging markets.
- Monitors events and situations that could inform and impact Abbott product P&R decisions and develop strategic solutions to achieve sustainable access and minimize impact
- Supports the preparation of the Global Market Access input into portfolio expansion decisions taken in the Executive Innovation Board
- Provides strategic input into Portfolio Expansion assessments and forecasts. This may include, but is not limited to, articulating and quantifying product value for use as a forecast input for internally developed and externally in-licensed / acquired products.
- Together with the Global Market Access Strategy Head and Global Pricing Head, defines the EPD Global market access and pricing strategy for new product introductions for multi-country and cross-region product launches
- Drives development and enhancement of the key global brands value proposition
- Development and socialization of defined deliverables for pre
- and peri-launch activities for Global product launches (i.e. launch tool-kit)
**Minimum Experience/Training Required**:
- >6 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry and/or consulting
- Broad-spectrum understanding of key function areas (payer relations, pricing, HE, policy)
- Successful track record in market access, strategic planning or portfolio evaluation
- Experience in multiple market archetypes (fully-reimbursed to OOP) highly desirable
- Experience in a Matrix and complex environment is highly desirable
- Experience working in Emerging Markets scope (BRICS, SE Asia, LatAm, Middle East / North Africa)
**Minimum Education**:
B.A. or B.S. in Business Administration or Science; M.B.A or Ph.D. in Finance/Legal or Scientific field preferred
**Competencies/Skills**:
- Strong executive presence and leadership skills including the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with Senior Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (English) required; demonstrated ability to develop compelling presentations / business cases for senior management consumption
- Although this role does not develop product forecasts, the person in this role should have experience with opportunity assessment forecasting
- Professional experience demonstrating innovative and “out-of-box” thinking and ability to quickly translate concepts into tangible results and achieve operational excellence
