General Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Senior Director, Market Access Sub-Region Europe (SRE), the Director Market Access CEEG is responsible for the Market Access and Pricing of BeiGene’s assets in the CEEG cluster of SRE.
The geographic scope of CEEG (Central and Eastern Europe, Greece, Cyprus and Malta) and therefore this role includes the following fourteen (14) markets: Poland; Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
The individual in this role is the Market Access lead for BeiGene Poland, an established BeiGene entity; the Market Access lead for CEEG; and a contributing extended member of the CEEG Cross-Functional Leadership Team tasked with managing BeiGene’s Distribution Partner in CEEG markets.
This position is responsible for developing and delivering on the Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) plan for the region considering broader European and Global launch sequencing as well as Global pricing guidance. Further, the person in this role will actively lead and/or support the Senior Director, Market Access SRE or Distribution Partner in negotiations with reimbursement authorities across CEEG.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Work cross-functionally to communicate the BeiGene access, value and reimbursement perspectives to drive and align commercial strategy development
- Monitor market access and health policy environment, early identify new trends, disseminate strategic, operational and financial implications
- Share the implications with Country / Cluster leadership team and EU market access leadership team
- Customize Global Value Dossier, EU Market Access Strategy, value messages and toolkits to local needs. Drive and be accountable for on-time CEEG P&R dossier submission and negotiation
- Drive access and value related projects such as landscape assessments, payer market research, payer advisory boards and general guidance on local strategies
- Early access planning of new products and indications
- Develop a holistic local market access strategy, building on solid insights of local environment and customers, integrating key levers such as pricing, clinical and economic evidence, policy shaping, multi-stakeholder engagement
- Development of outreach and engagement plan for key payers and their influencers
- Create and maintain a strong contact network with key players and their influencers
- Negotiation with all level of national payers
- Develop innovative pricing and value based contracting models to optimize the acceleration of reimbursement approval
- Input local needs into EU pricing strategy for current and future portfolio
- Customize EU pricing strategy, propose local pricing positions to be presented and agreed
- Ensure HEOR programs support the above strategies to facilitate pricing, reimbursement and uptake
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervision; high level of cross functional and pan-regional collaborations with internal stakeholders as well as Distribution Partner.
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry and 5+ years in market access positions
- Extensive experience in pricing and reimbursement in 2+ CEEG markets
- Demonstrated success and experience supporting oncology product pre-launch, launch and post-launch
- In depth knowledge and understanding of CEEG payer systems, reimbursement challenges and opportunities
- Direct experience in HTA dossier submissions and negotiations
- Demonstrated experience negotiating price and reimbursement conditions with public administration and health authorities.
- Demonstrated experience in economic model adaptation for national/regional and local submission
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic insights into practical, well-designed HE and outcomes research initiatives to support value of brands
- Demonstrated ability to operate in matrix environment
- Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration and out-of-the-box thinking
- Agile, strategic thinking and ability to develop innovative global reimbursement/pricing strategies
- Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of market access strategy, opportunity and risks
- Oncology market experience strongly preferred
- Fluency in English required; fluency in 1+ Slavic languages, Romanian, or Greek preferred
Education Required: Master’s in science or Master’s Business Administration
Computer Skills: Standard Computer Skills required
Travel: Approximately 40% of time
