Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) is looking for a:
**Head of Market Access Strategy**:
for our global EPD Headquarter based in Allschwil/Basel, Switzerland.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead development of market access strategies and playbook; deliver clear recommendations to the business relating to market access strategy and pricing/reimbursement across all EPD therapeutic areas
- Develop innovative strategies for accelerating products’ access, which may include alternative payment methodologies, value-based agreements, payer and/or pharma partnerships
- Lead the preparation of the Global Market Access input into portfolio expansion decisions taken in the global and regional Executive Innovation Boards
- Act as a MA&P function coach for country/ cluster Market Access during MA portfolio evaluation
- Market Access assessment of Portfolio Expansion strategy, including (but not limited to):

- MA policy (pricing, reimbursement, listing, etc.) and implications
- Public & private healthcare priorities and funding flow - Represent payer perspective to ensure payer requirements are adequately met
- Act as global competence center for Market Access Portfolio Evaluation:

- Develop guidelines and toolkits for countries/ clusters to use in MA portfolio evaluation
- Lead cross-country, cross-region portfolio project evaluation with regards to MA
- Lead the development of global value dossier. Lead assessment of cost of therapy research to continuously support the value proposition throughout the life cycle of the product. Partners with Regional/Local Access teams to develop key regional tools and materials and foster best practice sharing across regions/local teams.
- Improve internal coordination, processes, communication and efficiency. Partner with cross functional groups by providing expertise and insights.
- Lead collaboration within global/regional/local access team members, global portfolio expansion and marketing teams to work on projects of diverse scope and complexity. Expected to exercise independent judgment within defined practices, guidance and policies.
- Drive organizational responses to the needs of emerging policy trends, influencers and customers.
- In collaboration with HEOR Head provide recommendations for Health Economics studies and publication strategies for pipeline and inline products and ensure that scientific data resulting from the execution of Health Economics Studies are appropriately positioned in the public domain
- Develop and drive individual talent training and development programs for global MA personnel, regional MA heads and key country MA Heads
- Drive implementation of Abbott access systems (Launch Excellence, Global Access portal etc.) and capabilities with accurate and integrated data, to enable proactive insights
- Processes and governance, strategic and tactical capabilities, systems and analytics
- Act as a global access excellence leader and foster productive collaboration specifically with regional/local access team members as well as global/regional marketing and Medical Affairs
- Support development of associates’ capabilities in executing MA&P-related steps critical for success.
- Capabilities encompass, but are not limited to:

- Ability to conduct local Mock negotiation training for new brands/indications for selected brands or indications.
- Establishment or update of the Key Stakeholder mapping,
- New/established brands pricing research
- Preparation prior to scientific advice meetings with MoHs
- Anticipate future trends and changes in Health Care Systems and collaborate with Corporate Government Affairs to develop innovative policy responses, including the underlying evidentiary basis, in order to pro-actively build sustainable competitive actions and appropriate action plans

**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**:

- Master's degree in economics, health economics, public health, health services research; advanced degree in business analytics and/or financial analysis preferred; PhD preferred.
- Prior access regional or global leadership experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated span of control across multiple therapeutic areas; gastroenterology, CNS, women health, oncology strongly preferred; experience in access strategies development for Biologics and/or Biosimilars is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading Market Access efforts, pricing and reimbursement in emerging markets.
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of the emerging markets health care systems and financing mechanisms; Public and private payor experience required
- Demonstrated experience leading Global Value Dossier and Payer value proposition development
