**Overview (Scope of Role)**

The Vice President (VP), Global Marketing and Commercial Excellence, in alignment with the Executive Leadership Team, provides leadership and coordination within the company and individual efforts to develop and lead the execution of Trinseo’s global, enterprise-wide Marketing and Commercial Excellence strategy to align best practices to maximize financial performance. In cooperation with Corporate Development this role supports Engineered Materials (EM) and its regions by developing and implementing a strategic marketing roadmap.

This position will be located in Horgen, Switzerland and report to the Senior Vice President, Engineered Materials.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Re-assesses the EM Marketing organization and proposes a future global/regional organization with associated working processes.
- Leads the future global Marketing organization incl. Strategic Marketing and Marketing Communication.
- Short term: Leads global, cross regional projects & global market coordination groups (e.g. Sustainability roadmap) and partners with stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Drives and supervises the implementation of the Commercial Excellence program defined by EM as part of new global Commercial Excellence program in the region (processes, trainings, tools, key projects).
- Monitors commercial performance and practices (contract, pricing, profitability, payment terms).
- Continuously enhances Marketing & Commercial Excellence practices through providing insights that increase awareness of market/industry trends and sharing best practices.
- Provides strategic leadership on policies and change management in Commercial Excellence.

**Qualifications**
- Chemistry or Engineering undergraduate degree in combination with an advanced degree, MBA.
- 20+ years of Sales & Marketing management experience in the chemical industry, ideally in specialty business in the US market combined with a good understanding of the APAC market.
- Global and local experience with diverse multi-cultural business relationships both internal and external.
- Proven track record in strategy development and complex project management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, keen market awareness and excellent customer focus are needed.
- Proven ability to develop team members and restructure and transform organizations, integrate businesses created through mergers and acquisitions, and deliver results.
- Strong initiative and strong interpersonal skills, ability to be effective working in direct and in matrix organizations.
- Exceptional communication skills (written, interpersonal and group communication) at all levels; with executive team, team leaders, employees and external business partners, while maintaining authenticity and humility that earns credibility.
- Strong emotional intelligence, ability to handle complex situations and create thoughtful, fair, and company aligned responses.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate a vision, translating it into executable strategy and driving cross-functional teams to deliver results against a plan.
- Proven track record of achieving transformation through collaboration, change management and engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence a large group of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
