About this role
We have an exciting opening for a Logistics Sourcing Manager - Road (M/F/d) located in Horgen, Switzerland.
In this role, you are responsible for sourcing Packed Road Freight (annual spend ~$150 million) in Europe across all Dow sites and businesses. You will play a crucial part in creating value for Dow by identifying sourcing opportunities, crafting effective sourcing strategies, and optimizing sustained value through supplier relationships and negotiations with internal partners. You require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others.
It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.
**Responsibilities**:
- Utilizes business acumen and leverages best practices to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders
- Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the commercial area and/or geography
- Uses influential leadership to elevate the performance of the workgroup
- Drives and collaborates with internal stakeholders to control and sustain value delivery from negotiated agreements
- Conducts Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) across the supply base to maximize value and implement corporate, functional and regional strategies.
- Manages digital sourcing (i.e. Zycus / Coupa) and freight tendering tools (i.e. Transporeon)
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business, Finance or other relevant area).
- Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to work independently
- Fluency in English and the ability to convey complex or sensitive information effectively.
