**Background**

The Home & Personal Care market segments are heavily influenced by a strong drive from customers, consumers as well as from NGO’ and regulators, for the deployment of more sustainable technologies and solutions. The ultimate call is for non-fossil derived - or bio-derived feedstocks and biodegradable materials.

Dow’s market position in H&PC is strong, but based on traditional technologies such as acrylates, cellulosics and silicones. To address some of the technology gaps identified it was decided to extend Dow’s product lines with market-ready solutions for both bioderived as well as biodegradable technology.

This strategic choice has resulted in a significant shift in the R&D portfolio as well as the establishment of a set of alliance partners, with whom commercial agreements have been put into place. Continuously new external partnerships are being established with adjacent sustainable technologies.

Active portfolio management, a global oversight over these external partnerships, execution/monitoring of the commercial agreements and liaison with the different market segments and operational functions within the business will be required. Some of these partnerships could also create a window of opportunity for a cost-efficient acquisition.

Over time this role could potentially be extended to other markets segments beyond Hone & Personal Care and to other types of partnership, for instance in the space of circularity.

**Responsibilities**
- Overall oversight, leadership, and accountability for delivering the strategic initiative to continuously add sustainable technologies to Dow’s portfolio
- Focus on technologies and partnerships for the home and personal care business but could be extended to partnerships covering the other Consumer Solutions markets
- Responsible for the decision as to which technology options will be pursued inorganically to the portfolio through partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions.
- Accountable for the continuity of building a portfolio of alliance partners (buy and resell, contract mfg, innovation partnerships, technology licenses etc.), institutionalizing a methodology for screening partners and executing the partnership agreements.
- Accountable for maintaining the relationship with the alliance partners with whom an agreement has been established, oversight of the relationship and execution of the agreements.
- Accountable for the liaison between the internal stakeholders and the alliance partners and oversight of the functional relationships with the alliance partners (R&D, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, External Mfg, Product Mgmt)
- Accountable for the strategic oversight of the portfolio of alliance partners and execution of the strategy forward (potentially acquisition)
- Accountable for building a portfolio of other “bold-on” M&A targets and for executing a first deal when the right conditions and opportunity arise.
- This role requires leadership across functions (R&D, Strategic Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Product Mgmt, Supply Chain, M&E) and will require extensive collaboration with the Ventures and M&A groups in Dow.
- The incumbent will be a core member of the Global H&PC Leadership Team.

**Qualifications**
- Master’s Degree and above in Marketing/Finance/Economics/Sciences/Engineering
- 10+ years’ experience, cross regional or global marketing experience and/or a successful track record in product, commercial or business management.
- Proven Leadership / Influencing skills across a broad variety of functions & geographies
- Ideally experienced in Home & Personal Care Markets
- Strategically savvy
- Experience in managing innovation portfolios and go-to-market strategy development
- Execution oriented, high energy “do-er” who is capable of moving fast to find solutions and remove barriers, without losing sight of potential implementation risks and flaws.
- Experience in forming and managing alliances and managing or overseeing complex relationships is a plus
- Financial Acumen and analysis skills.
- Ability to deal with complexity.
