**Department overview**:
The General Ledger team is a key part of EMEA Finance, responsible for managing fiscal compliance in multiple countries and also group reporting under US GAAP. In addition to performing a high-quality monthly closing and fiscal reporting for direct and indirect taxes, the team is also responsible for project managing the dynamic landscape involving new reporting requirements, process improvements and system changes. For statutory compliance, the team successfully leads the financial statement audits for nearly 30 legal entities. We work closely with many Finance teams, including FP&A, Sales Audit, Treasury, Inventory Control, but also Payroll, Legal, IT and many business partners to achieve our common goals.

You are hands-on, detailed-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about accounting. You understand that when it comes to financial reporting, the details matter. You have outstanding communication skills, can effectively liaise with colleagues and other teams, and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

You are highly organized and self-motivated, able to work well to deadlines and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.

**What You’ll Do**:
The primary purpose of this position is management of accounting and fiscal compliance, including Group US GAAP and local GAAP reporting and direct and indirect tax requirements of European legal entities. In addition, oversight of the Accounts Payable and Inventory Control departments.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial management information is produced and reported to the Group within strict deadlines for SEC reporting, including: Month and Quarter-end closings, disclosures and consolidation
- Monitor closely and coordinate work performed by local tax advisors and accounting firms;
- Main point of contact for external auditors
- Act as the reference person for all corporate accounting queries and liaise with the US Finance team
- Coordinate annual statutory reporting and filings, VAT and corporate taxation, including inspections and related queries
- Maintain and improve the internal control environment in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley act requirements
- Lead and drive the performance of General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Inventory accounting teams, and be a key player for business change and process improvement initiatives involving other departments
- Support initiatives to implement new requirements for Group reporting and fiscal reporting
- Provide top-quality assistance and support to all internal and external business partners
**You’ll Need to Have**:

- Combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience within a multinational business
- Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans within a manufacturing environment desirable
- Outstanding management skills for supervision of a team
- Technical knowledge, CPA with post qualification experience in practice or industry, experience with a Big 4 is a plus
- Proficient in Excel, experience with JD Edwards Finance and SAP, a plus
- Languages: Fluent English is a mandatory requirement; Italian is a plus.
