Job Description

This is an exciting career opportunity to work in a multinational, global 500 company that truly integrates logistics and transforms global trade.

Take the lead in driving growth by managing a high-performing sales team in the industry. As a Business Development Manager, you will oversee and guide Business Development Executives to achieve strategic goals, acquire new clients, and deliver innovative supply chain solutions. This pivotal role combines leadership, strategic thinking, and industry expertise to drive business success in a competitive market.

Reporting to the Area Head of Business Development, you will focus on attracting new customers. We are targeting significant growth, and, in this position, you will be responsible for achieving our ambitious plan together with your team.

Key responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Team Management
    • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of Business Development Executives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
    • Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth through coaching and training.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the team.
  2. Strategic Business Development
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve growth targets.
    • Identify key markets, verticals, and customer segments for business expansion.
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with high-value clients, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  3. Sales Performance and Pipeline Management
    • Monitor the team's sales pipeline to ensure consistent inflow and progress toward revenue targets.
    • Oversee client proposals and negotiations to ensure alignment with the company’s value proposition and margin expectations.
    • Lead by example, actively engaging in high-impact customer interactions and supporting executives in closing complex deals.
  4. Market Insights and Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitor strategies, and industry innovations to drive informed decision-making.
    • Collaborate with product, customer experience, and vertical teams to ensure client solutions are competitive and aligned with customer needs.
    • Represent the organization at key industry events, trade shows, and forums to enhance visibility and credibility.

  • Extensive experience in business development, sales management, or account leadership within the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of international trade, customs regulations, and multimodal logistics solutions.

  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with expertise in pipeline management and financial planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
