Job Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished, highly analytical & data proficient person to assume the role of Global Commercial Excellence lead to play a pivotal role in optimizing commercial operations. This role focuses on enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of sales and marketing activities to drive business growth and achieve strategic objectives.

By focusing on optimizing sales and marketing processes, implementing effective tools and systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the Commercial Excellence Lead ensures that the organization can achieve its strategic objectives and compete effectively in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performance Management

KPI Development:

•Establish key performance indicators for sales and marketing teams aligned with business objectives.

• Implement dashboards and reporting systems to monitor performance in real-time with the collaboration of IT.

Performance Analysis:

• Conduct regular performance reviews to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance team effectiveness.

2. Sales Operations and Planning

Sales Forecasting:

•Collaborate with sales leaders to develop accurate sales forecasts.

•Utilize historical data and market trends to inform forecasting models.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

•Assist in preparing sales budgets and allocate resources efficiently.

•Monitor spending to ensure alignment with financial objectives.

3. Market Intelligence and Analytics

Data Collection:

•Gather market data, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.

•Use various sources such as market research reports, customer feedback, and industry publications.

Analysis and Reporting:

•Analyze data to identify market trends, opportunities, and threats.

•Provide regular reports and dashboards to inform strategic decisions.

Strategic Insights:

•Translate data findings into actionable recommendations for sales and marketing strategies.

•Support product positioning and go-to-market plans with evidence-based insights.

4. Pricing and Revenue Management

Pricing Strategies:

•Develop pricing models and strategies that maximize revenue and market share.

•Conduct price elasticity studies to understand the impact of pricing on demand.

Discount and Promotion Management:

•Establish guidelines for discounts, promotions, and rebates.

•Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities and adjust strategies as needed.

Margin Optimization:

•Analyze product and customer profitability to identify opportunities for margin improvement.

5. Process Improvement and Standardization

Best Practice Implementation:

•Identify and disseminate best practices across sales and marketing teams.

•Standardize processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Alignment with Other Departments:

•Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and IT to ensure cohesive strategies.

•Facilitate communication between departments to align objectives and initiatives.

Project Leadership:

•Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving commercial performance.

•Ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet defined goals.

Address any compliance issues promptly and effectively.

7. Performance Reporting and Communication

Regular Updates:

•Provide detailed reports on commercial performance to senior leadership.

•Highlight key achievements, challenges, and areas requiring attention.

Stakeholder Engagement:

•Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

•Share successes and learnings to promote transparency and collaboration.

8. Strategic Planning Support

Goal Setting:

•Contribute to the development of commercial objectives and strategies.

•Align commercial excellence initiatives with overall business goals.

Scenario Planning:

•Assist in modeling different market scenarios to inform strategic decisions.

Customer Focus: Strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to enhance customer experiences.

Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare industries.

Collaboration: Skilled in working with diverse teams across different functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytics, project management, driving commercial excellence from FMCG or OTC industry.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, with the ability to align regional commercial strategies with global objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages relevant to the region is a plus.
