**OBJECTIVES**:
The PDT Pricing and Tender Excellence Lead is responsible for development and implementation of Takeda’s global pricing & tender excellence strategy, guidance, governance and processes to fulfill our purpose to strive towards better health for people, and a brighter future for the world, aiming for broad and rapid patient access while maximizing the value of our innovative PDT therapies.
- Support and implement Takeda’s pricing and tender excellence guidance and governance and communicate it to internal and external stakeholders
- Utilize Takeda’s pricing and tender systems and capabilities with accurate and integrated data, to enable proactive insights, decision price forecasting and horizon scanning
- Embed PDT Pricing & Tender Excellence into Takeda at local, regional and global levels
- Analyze external pricing trends and key IRP events within the allocated region to build a proactive mitigation strategy
- Serve as the expert on global pricing and tender excellence, maintaining a high level of expertise on critical developments in the pricing environment globally and in key markets. Monitor events and situations that could inform and impact Takeda product pricing and reimbursement, evaluate trends on Takeda position in tenders in both price and non-price criteria, and communicate regularly with senior leadership on these topics
- Support LOCs and Regions in the journey of procurement away from “winner takes all/lowest price only” tenders toward more innovative tender and non-tender models, thus helping to ensure wider patient access to appropriate and optimal treatment options
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
The PDT Pricing and Tender Excellence Lead will participate in the development of Takeda’s value-based pricing strategy across the PDT portfolio. Within their defined regional areas of responsibility they will supervise global pricing operations and embed pricing excellence within the organization to ensure broad access while maximizing value and minimizing price erosion. This includes:
**Strategic Pricing**
- Participating in the price exception approval process for their defined geography
- Support the development and execution of global pricing strategies based on value-based pricing principles for key launches and marketed brands
- Supports development of value and price guidance based on tiered pricing, sustainability, plasma economics, and VBH principles for key launch and marketed brands (responsible for gaining PRC/BRC approval) in collaboration with Regions, LOCs, GPLS and GPA Franchise Heads
- Ensures in-depth understanding of changes occurring in their area of geographical responsibility, of trends in the pricing and reimbursement environment, regulations and policies of key markets and impact on Takeda products
- Implement payer, HTA and policymaker challenges with price defense strategies to drive value recognition of PDT products
- Support and implement innovative pricing and payment models to create win-win-win situations for patients, payers and Takeda
- Contributes to the development of pipeline strategyby providing insights and analytics to relevant R&D GPT teams
**Value Setting and Preservation**
- Implements global pricing initiatives, new pricing algorithms and methodologies across areas of geographical responsibility
- Feeds in intelligence from allocated markets in order to capture opportunities, improve price realization, and for launch and in-line assets
- Participate in a best-in-class infrastructure for pricing/decision analytics
- Establishes and drives processes critical to price approvals and changes across launch and key marketed brands in partnership with Regions and LOCs, and within areas of geographical responsibility
**Tender Excellence**
- In collaboration with global and country Access and Commercial teams, establishes an overall tender strategy for PDT therapies in geogrphical area of focus
- Evaluates market environments, collaborates closely with internal and external thought leaders in identifying unmet needs with regards to tenders and translates information into tender strategies to achieve short-term and long-term franchise/therapeutic area objectives
- Tracks competitive tender strategies and shares across organization, builds competitive, pro-active tender mitigation strategies and plans
- Works with Regions to ensure key tenders within assigned therapeutic area have a defined strategy
- Ensures proactive tender planning and prioritization process across Regions and provides input into annual planning process
