Associate Director Forecasting Europe

General Description:
The Associate Director, Forecasting Europe will be responsible for developing and implementing forecast models for oncology pipeline programs, including both solid and liquid tumor assets. S/he will be responsible for managing both short and long-range forecast models and will work closely with primary market research and secondary data analytics functions to inform the forecast.
For potential future indications, s/he will be responsible for helping to derive key forecast inputs and seamlessly integrating these findings into the long-range forecast model. This person will also be responsible for related data
analytics, synthesizing data from various sources including primary market
research, secondary data, and analytics into actionable insights and informing forecast assumptions.
This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners within and outside of Commercial to identify critical business
objectives and will help ensure analysis plans are implemented to address key issues. This person will also be occasionally responsible for support of
commercial assessments for early pipeline and business development
opportunities. This person must be able to engage diverse audiences and
possess strong analytical skills, and have the ability to translate findings into actionable insights.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Develop product-specific short-term and long-term forecasts models and maintain up-to-date forecast models, reflecting current data, information, and assumptions.
- Lead the design and implementation of model updates and/or new forecast approaches, including forecasting and business planning processes and associated work streams.
- Support the executive team members in the design and execution of alternative forecast models and scenarios as needed.
- Actively integrate primary research findings with other analytical insights (custom secondary research, forecasting) developed by team members within or outside the Commercial Operations and Business Analytics (COBA) team
- Analyze and interpret data to identify correlations and trends as well as monitoring sales and pipeline trends to identify opportunities and risks
- Support planning of products in development, including evaluation of market opportunities, as needed.
- Build strategic thought partnerships in Europe and resolve key business issues with cross-functional partners across marketing, market access, clinical, regulatory, finance, manufacturing, and sales. Collaborate with these cross-functional partners to ensure appropriate output and reflection in forecast assumptions.
- Demonstrate analytics thought leadership and represent BeiGene at key meetings, functions, and conferences, etc., when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- BA or BSc with concentration in Life Sciences, Marketing, or Business; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 5 years or more of progressive experience in forecasting.
- VBA coding/SQL skills a plus but not required.
- Biotech or pharmaceutical consulting experience required; in-house and oncology experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, and the ability to translate data and learning into relevant forecast inputs and, ultimately, actionable recommendations for business growth.
- Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IMS MIDAS,) strongly preferred.
- Can deal with ambiguity and can act without having the complete picture.
- Ability to adapt plans and strategies as new market findings arise.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of commercial strategy, opportunity and risks for the Executive Team.
