Head of Accounting

**Your purpose**:

- Lead Verity's global accounting function from its head office in Zurich as the company expands operations from Switzerland into the United States, the European Union, and other geographies.
- Ensure timely and accurate quarterly accounting close, board reports, year-end reporting packs, annual financial statements, and various monthly reporting requirements.
- Drive the transition from current Swiss code of obligations reporting to IFRS standards, ensuring that accounting entries are fully compliant with Swiss code and IFRS respectively and that the accounting team maintain a robust set of financial controls.
- Develop the audit planning process and work with the auditors to ensure a robust audit plan is in place. Coordinate and manage all internal and external audits.
- Oversee global taxation, intercompany accounting, and compliant transfer pricing transactions, ensuring intercompany agreements are in place and comply with OECD standards internationally.
- Ensure that best practice is aligned and implemented as the new ERP system is rolled out.
- Work with the CFO to develop the global accounting function to support international growth.

**Your background**:

- Qualified accountant: BSc in Finance and Accounting or professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, Chartered Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management (Federal Diploma of Higher Education), or Chartered Expert in Financial and Managerial Accounting and Reporting (Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience in reporting in a complex multi-currency IFRS-based company is required.
- Full understanding and fluency with Swiss GAAP and IFRS.
- Swiss VAT, international VAT, Swiss taxation, and statutory reporting experience.
- Experience managing a team over multiple locations would be an advantage.
- Consolidation of monthly and year-end reports experience.
- Transfer Pricing exposure and knowledge.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional Excel abilities are required, along with an aptitude for managing well-organized data structures, with great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interest in the tech sector, particularly automation or robotics would be favorable.
- Excellent communication skills.
