Master Chef for Mississippi Galley

Viking Cruises is seeking an experienced Master Chef to join our Mississippi Galley team. As a Master Chef, you will be responsible for preparing delicious meals for our guests and crew according to our Executive Chef’s recipes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare dishes at an advanced level, following company recipes and procedures.
- Prepare food items per recipes and instructions with minimum supervision.
- Economical work practices and control food production to minimize wastage.
- Maintain food preparation and storage standards according to public health policies and company regulations.
- Provide high level of comfort and service to guests with impeccable cleanliness and hygiene, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Flexible to take over Assistant Chef de Partie position and work in any section, as assigned.
- Willful and able to work 10-12 weeks straight on the ship followed by 3 weeks vacation.
Requirements:
- 4+ years’ experience as Cook or similar at a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is an advantage.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (30 Kilos) on a daily basis and be able to work a minimum of ten hours per day, seven days a week.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards, with excellent knowledge of all Public Health Policies are required.
- Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and productively in a team.
Mandatory Requirements & At Will Employment:
- U.S. or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations.
- Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for marijuana and other controlled substances. We are a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace.
- Viking Cruises is an At-Will Employer. As such your, employment with Viking is a voluntary one and is subject to termination with or without cause or notice, at any time by you or Viking.
