Job Title: Manager of Bid & Business Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Bid & Business Development to join our team at Thales Alenia Space in Switzerland.

About the Role:

The Manager of Bids and Business Development will be part of the management team of Thales Alenia Space in Switzerland and will lead a small team consisting of an Optical Communication Product Manager & Capture Leader, Sales Support, and a part-time employee.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall business development and bids for TAS in Switzerland.
  • Identify and capture business opportunities in-line with the product and capability portfolio in various markets, including ESA, ESA PRODEX, Space and Mission Prime large and small companies, and Export Markets.
  • Interact with key stakeholders in the TAS organization, including Sales Teams, Key Account Managers, Product Line Managers, Capture Teams, and Bid Teams.
  • Develop and present business cases, secure development funding from public sector or customers, and initiate and oversee proposal preparation linked to identified business opportunities.
  • Support the proposal capture leader and bid team until contract signature.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in business development or sales activities for space.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand the needs of counterparts and adapt to different styles and needs.
  • Strong self-organization ability, proactive attitude, and ability to plan and execute activities accordingly.
  • Fluent English (working language), with an advantage of communication ability in French and Italian.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
