Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at Iron Systems. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our end-users, ensuring that their desktop systems, laptops, and mobile devices are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support to end-users, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop systems, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Hardware and Software Support: Install and configure hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Break/Fix and Desk-Side Support: Perform break/fix and desk-side support, including data migration, refreshes, and other technical tasks.
  • On-Site Support: Provide on-site technical assistance to end-users, including updates, configuration changes, and software installations.
  • Ticket Management: Manage the ticket queue, ensuring that tickets are resolved and closed within the defined service level agreement.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors for provision of end-user support, including hardware vendor technicians for warranty repair/replacement.
  • Security and Compliance: Perform end-user support-related security and controls and compliance-related tasks, including access reviews, risk assessments, and controls verifications.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with Level 3 support groups and project teams for service delivery enhancements, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Event Support: Provide IT support for on-site or off-site events and meetings, including site setup, coordination with venue IT/AV contacts, and stand-by support.
  • Disaster Recovery: Provide IT support for disaster recovery and immediate response in the event of emergency situations at local sites.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call support if required outside business hours on a rotational basis.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a field services technician role, with a strong background in desktop systems, operating systems, and diverse technical environments.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service orientation, verbal communication skills, and analytical thinking and problem-solving ability. CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift weight up to 30 lbs at waist level.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with various desktop systems, operating systems, and diverse technical environments.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent customer service orientation, verbal communication skills, and analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Industry Certifications: CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent certification.
