Senior Marketing Messaging Strategist

About the Role
This position is responsible for the development and clear differentiation of breakthrough value propositions across critical growth areas of Johnson Controls International. This role supports a critical step in our global go-to-market efforts, repositioning deeply technical offerings into strong, customer-oriented value propositions that stand out among the competition.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling value messaging in collaboration with subject matter experts
- Leverage customer insights to define strategic, core customer value themes that ensure value propositions are built on defined customer needs
- Research winning messaging concepts within the competitive set, ensuring proposed value propositions are differentiated and deliver fresh thinking
- Select and develop messaging for key proof points that substantiate the value claims of offerings and deliver credibility behind the value message and position Johnson Controls uniquely in the market
- Research critical customer keywords and embed winning search terms in the value messaging
- Evolving draft messaging concepts with refinements based on insights, proofreading for accuracy and quality
- Adapting technical messages and translate them into more customer-centric language
- Drive to value messaging and differentiation messaging that support the broader repositioning of the Johnson Controls brand
- Support the development of grab-and-go assets tied to new value proposition messaging, from imagery to creative campaign headlines to infographics
- Understand and research the key competitor landscape to deliver updates on key differentiation messaging
- Support the evolution of value proposition messaging based on changing market trends and customer needs for key value propositions
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in messaging development or journalism
- Strong track record in technical, B2B, and sustainability content writing
- Experience working in an international environment
- Proven track record of working effectively in large global matrix organizations and cross-functional teams
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Organized with a can-do attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
- Building technology or related industry experience
