About the Role

The Chef de Cuisine is a key member of the Viking culinary team, responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the galley and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the galley team, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and food preparation procedures to meet the company's quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure food safety and presentation standards are met.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other department heads to achieve culinary department goals and objectives.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' culinary experience, including 3-4 years as a Chef de Cuisine or similar position.
  • Advanced culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
