Cargo Sales and Reservations Specialist

Job Purpose

To provide exceptional service to customers by effectively managing cargo sales and reservations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of shipments, and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

  • Compile and analyze statistical data to identify trends and opportunities, providing insights to management to inform business decisions.
  • Provide rate quotes, respond to customer inquiries, and maintain accurate records of shipments to ensure seamless communication and on-time delivery.
  • Evaluate customer requests, conduct follow-ups, and ensure prompt responses to RFQs, securing necessary approvals before dispatching offers to customers.
  • Monitor cargo utilisation, adjust bookings as needed, and maintain open communication with clients to ensure optimal yield and customer satisfaction.
  • Process and update records of imports and departures, inform customers of post-flight shipment status, and provide accurate information to network stations.
  • Independently evaluate reservations, considering factors such as density mix, commercially important cargo, and traffic trends to optimize yield and revenue.
  • Manage contract rate filings, rate sheets, and internal team visibility, handle CASS refund claims, and support the sales team with CRM maintenance and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Assist the sales team in data preparation, create and submit commercial reports, and identify opportunities, trends, and threats to inform business strategies.
  • Respond to customer complaints, initiate tracer actions, and follow up to maintain high service levels and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience

Requirements for this role include:

  • A good standard of secondary education.
  • At least 3 years of experience in general cargo customer service or logistics with an airline and/or forwarder.
  • Strong numeracy and accuracy under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English.
  • Self-motivation, proactivity, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
