Senior Cargo Sales and Reservations Specialist

Job Purpose

  • Compile and analyze statistical data on reservation trends, transfer connections, yield, and seasonal variations to provide management with relevant insights.
  • Provide rate quotes and respond to customer inquiries on flight schedules, tariffs, and shipment status to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Evaluate and respond to customer queries on ad-hoc shipments, conduct follow-ups on large ad-hoc and contract rate requests, and ensure timely responses to RFQs.
  • Monitor utilization of allotments and pre-bookings, follow up with customers to adjust or renegotiate as needed.
  • Create and update import and departure records, and inform customers of post-flight shipment status to ensure accurate information and high service levels.
  • Accept reservations up to final destinations, using independent judgment to consider density mix, commercially important cargo, and traffic trends to achieve optimal yield.
  • Responsible for contract rate filing, rate sheets, and information visibility within the team, and handle all CASS refund claims.
  • Support the sales team with CRM maintenance, customer mailings, competitions, promotions, and event management to enhance customer engagement.
  • Create, monitor, and submit commercial reports in a timely manner to identify opportunities, trends, and threats, and support the sales team in data preparation.
  • Attend to customer complaints diligently, initiate tracer actions, and follow up to maintain high service levels.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Good standard of secondary education.
  • 3+ years of general cargo customer service/logistics experience with an airline and/or forwarder.
  • Highly numerate and accurate under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
