About the Role

As a Data Protection Specialist at J. Safra Sarasin, you will be part of the Data Protection Competence Center, supporting the development, maintenance, and enforcement of the Data Protection Framework across the Bank and the J. Safra Sarasin Group. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data privacy assessments for projects, initiatives, and processes involving personal data to guarantee adherence to data privacy requirements.
  • Enhance and maintain the Bank's data protection framework, particularly the register of processing activities.
  • Develop and refine data protection framework processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Support the implementation of data privacy laws impacting the Group.
  • Provide assistance with handling data subject requests.
  • Promote a data protection culture within the organization.

Requirements

  • Higher education in Law, Economics, Finance, or equivalent education and professional background in Compliance, IT, IT Security, Risk Management, Regulatory Advisory, or Audit.
  • Certifications such as IAPP or CAS are an asset.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in Data Privacy in a similar function, preferably in a private banking organization.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of IT, IT security, and Cyber security aspects in relation to data privacy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on mentality with the capability to work independently.
  • Fluency in English and/or German.
