About the Role

This internship position will drive the design, implementation, and governance of industry-wide biomedical data standards from protocol to submission in the Data Standards and Governance group. You will contribute to the conceptual design of biomedical data standards, their governance, and technical implementation in a metadata repository.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of biomedical data standards for the collection of safety laboratory data, including hematology, blood chemistry, and urinalysis.
  • Work as a member of the Data Privacy and Sharing Enabling Platforms team, collaborating with key business stakeholders to prioritize the development of new biomedical data standards.
  • Lead and contribute to specialist teams within the overarching governance framework, providing specialist advice and support with the implementation of biomedical data standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal work processes and tools, driving a culture based on FAIR data principles across the Roche organization.
  • Contribute to projects that improve oversight of data sharing activities and demonstrate the value of Data Privacy and Sharing activities.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at a university or completed studies within the past 12 months in a life science discipline.
  • Experience in applying and managing healthcare data, preferably using CDISC industry biomedical data standards.
  • Strong interest in data sharing, data reuse, and data privacy topics.
  • Strong critical appraisal skills, analytical approach, and ability to take pragmatic decisions under demanding timelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization.
