Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the business operations and delivery model, implementing the business strategy and optimizing the organization's operational capabilities.
  • Head of Operations: strategy, operating model & implementation plan, process, tools, and governance.
  • Resource Management: capacity planning, utilization, and recruitment.
  • Business operation information reporting and Commercial Management: supporting the MD and finance teams to ensure business productivity and profitability.
  • Oversight and mentorship of the delivery management department (project management).

The Operations Director will set the strategic direction for delivery management, helping the leads to define and implement standards and processes.

You will have proven experience of providing oversight and leadership across multiple projects/programmes, while enabling others to successfully deliver day-to-day.

Strong consulting skills and building strong relationships with both clients and all parts of the agency to define and adhere to viable approaches/methodologies in line with relevant industry standards.

Represent the delivery team within the business and ensure their views are made clear to the executive management team.

Ensure the individuals within delivery management are aligned and function as a team.

The ideal candidate will bring an energy and passion to the role that inspires those in the department and within the wider agency.

A fantastic communicator both internally and with clients and other stakeholders, acting as an advocate and ambassador for all elements of company operation and delivery management.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and accountability for the delivery management department.
  • Review and help develop high-value and/or high-risk proposals, scopes, and plans to ensure their viability.
  • Supporting with client forecasting and budgeting.
  • Manage intercompany network operations with on and off-shore as well as 3rd parties.
  • Resource planning for client projects collaborating between client teams, practices, on and off-shore teams, and 3rd parties.
  • Driving adoption of operational tools in our client teams and practices.
  • Define responsibilities, set direction, and allocate departmental tasks.
  • Seek to maximize revenue and margin across multiple projects/accounts.
  • Hold responsibility for the quality of the project deliverables and communications across delivery.
  • Continually improve and evolve delivery practice, sustaining a best-in-class team.
  • Report on delivery status and risk to agency leadership, providing a snapshot on projects currently being undertaken.
  • Explain Digitas' business focus, targets, and guidelines, and provide clarity about the implications of these for your team and the individuals within it.
