Mechanical Engineer for FCC BIDs Development

Job Description:

Your Responsibilities

As a skilled Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing and developing beam intercepting devices and radiation absorbers for the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing and designing complex systems, collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative solutions, and utilizing advanced tools such as Finite Element Method solvers and 3D modeling software.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in solid mechanics, engineering materials, and structural analysis, with experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team are essential. Proficiency in English is required, and French language skills would be an asset.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be a national of a CERN member country or have a permanent residence permit in the country where the recruited person will work.
  • You have a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
  • You have never had a CERN fellowship or graduate contract before.
