Job Description:

At CERN's Environment Group, we are seeking a skilled Geomechanics Engineer to contribute to the development of a modular excavated materials treatment plant. The successful candidate will work with industrial partners to gather technical requirements, design the plant's architecture, and implement eco-friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather technical requirements for excavated materials treatment and processing.
  • Design and develop a modular excavated materials treatment plant, incorporating eco-design principles.
  • Lead prototyping activities to build an installation for treating and characterizing excavated materials.
  • Participate in feasibility tests for excavated material reuse pathways.
  • Collaborate with the civil engineering team on the FCC study.
  • Develop a preliminary management plan for excavated materials based on quality and reuse pathways.
  • Prepare documentation from requirements gathering to plant implementation.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in excavated materials treatment and processing, mechanical sorting, and granulometry reduction.
  • Knowledge of industrial best practices for requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Application of environmental regulations for excavated materials storage, transport, and reuse.
