Mechanical Engineer for High Field Superconducting Magnets

**Job Description**

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at CERN.

The successful candidate will participate in the mechanical design of high field superconducting magnets for the Future Circular Collider, using finite element tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the mechanical design of 14 T block dipole BOND.
  • Suggest iterations and fine tuning of the design.
  • Contribute to determine the layout of the mechanical instrumentation.
  • Participate in the first mechanical tests, analysis of measurements and benchmarking.

**Requirements**

  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and finite element models.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of superconducting magnet technology is a plus.
