Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - High Field Superconducting Magnets

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its team. As a member of the TE-MSC-SMT section, you will participate in the mechanical design of 14 T block dipole BOND using finite element tools (ANSYS). Your responsibilities will include suggesting iterations and fine-tuning of the design, contributing to the determination of the layout of the mechanical instrumentation, and participating in the first mechanical tests and analysis of measurements.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and finite element models
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of superconducting magnet technology is a plus
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be a plus

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: You are a national of a .
  • Professional Experience: You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • CERN Fellow or Graduate Contract: You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • University Degree: Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • PhD: Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
