About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director, Drug Product Sales to join our team at Lonza. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving the acquisition of new customers and expanding existing relationships for our Drug Product Services Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement territory sales plans that align with the DPS Business Unit strategy, in close collaboration with Business Development managers, Account Managers, and Global Account Managers.
  • Hunt for new programs for the DPS Business Unit, leveraging your expertise in the CDMO industry and drug product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the drug product market and customers, differentiating Lonza from the competition and promoting our current technical capabilities and emerging technologies.
  • Network and build trust-based relationships with target accounts, from technical personnel to executive-level stakeholders, to discuss the value proposition of Lonza's offerings.
  • Formulate value propositions to generate opportunities to address customer needs, and identify market trends, assess market potential, and develop strategies to grow market share.
  • Achieve new business/new program wins, assisting the Global Sales team to achieve required opportunity closure rates.
  • Actively lead or support marketing and technical expert outreach efforts to penetrate target accounts and position Lonza as a market leader in biologics drug product services.
  • Maintain up-to-date data in Lonza systems, including Salesforce, CPQ, Negotiation Planner, Customer Target Platform, and Omni.
  • Understand region-specific biotech and pharma landscapes and CDMO competition, continually assessing Lonza's position in the CDMO marketplace and adjusting territory strategy and plan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline, such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences; an MBA or Advanced scientific degree is preferred.
  • Business fluency in English.
  • Highly experienced within the CDMO industry, specifically in drug product development and commercialization.
  • Strong technical understanding of drug product development and manufacturing processes, including aseptic filling, fill and finish, liquid vials, lyo vials, cartridges, and PFS or syringes.
  • CDMO background/service industry experience providing fill and finish services.
  • CRM/SFDC expertise and negotiation experience.
  • Proven track record in delivering year-on-year business targets for drug product deals.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships based on trust and long-term commitment.
