About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Director, Drug Product Sales Specialist to join our team at Lonza. As a key member of our Global Sales organization, you will play a critical role in driving the acquisition of new customers and expanding existing relationships for our Drug Product Services Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement territory sales plans that align with the DPS Business Unit strategy, in close collaboration with Business Development managers, Account Managers, and Global Account Managers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for the DPS BU, leveraging your expertise in the drug product market and customers.
  • Effectively promote current drug product technical capabilities and emerging technologies to facilitate the generation and closing of new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, from technical personnel to executive-level stakeholders, to discuss the value proposition of Lonza's offerings.
  • Formulate value propositions to address customer needs and identify market trends, assess market potential, and develop strategies to grow market share.
  • Achieve new business/new program wins by assisting the Global Sales team in achieving required opportunity closure rates.
  • Lead or support marketing and technical expert outreach efforts to penetrate target accounts and position Lonza as a market leader in biologics drug product services.
  • Establish and execute regional marketing plans and business activities, including drug product business unit roadshows/events, to drive business growth.
  • Maintain up-to-date data in Lonza systems, including Salesforce, CPQ, Negotiation Planner, Customer Target Platform, and Omni.
  • Understand the region-specific biotech and pharma landscape and CDMO competition, and continually assess Lonza's position in the CDMO marketplace to adjust territory strategy and plan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline, such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences; an MBA or Advanced scientific degree is preferred.
  • Business fluency in English.
  • Highly experienced in the CDMO industry, specifically in drug product development and commercialization, with a strong understanding of the drug product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record in delivering year-on-year business targets for drug product deals.
  • Strong technical understanding of drug product development and manufacturing processes, as well as a demonstrated ability to secure new customers and exhibit a strong close rate.
  • Effective at working with scientists and other customer stakeholders, up to and including C-Suite leaders, to discuss the value proposition of Lonza's offerings.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong internal networks and navigate complex matrix organizations.
  • Customer-facing attitude, with the ability to build relationships based on trust and long-term commitment.
