Research Scientist in Organic Synthesis

**About the Position**
The Universität Bern is seeking an exceptional researcher to join our interdisciplinary team in the field of molecular (opto)electronics. As part of our SNSF-funded Sinergia project, we are looking for a talented individual to contribute to the development of novel self-assembled nanostructures and (opto)electronic devices.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and synthesize a variety of large π-conjugates with tailored functional groups for self-assembled nanostructures on surfaces and/or for studying in-depth photo-induced electron and energy transfer.
- Develop methods to grow molecular structures where spin states can be manipulated electrically.
- Utilize on-surface reactions for 2D covalent networks.
**Requirements**
- Master's degree in chemistry and/or materials sciences.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in organic synthesis.
- In-depth knowledge of a variety of characterization and analytical techniques (NMR and MS), preferably including cyclic voltammetry, UV-vis absorption and emission spectroscopy.
- Good knowledge of the English language.
