Research Scientist in Molecular Electronics

**About the Position**
The Universität Bern is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary research group in the field of Molecular Electronics. As part of our SNSF-funded project, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled researcher to design and develop novel Nitrogenated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (N-PAHs) with tailored electronic properties.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and synthesize a variety of N-PAHs with encoded functionalization for studying their charged or excited-states on surfaces using time-resolved AFM/STM.
- Develop and optimize organic synthesis methods for achieving fine-tuned electronic properties and various self-assembled nanostructures of N-PAHs.
- Collaborate with our research group to advance our understanding of molecular electronics and its applications.
**Requirements**
- PhD degree in organic chemistry with a strong track record.
- Strong background in organic synthesis, preferably with experience in the synthesis of N-PAHs or fused electron donor-acceptor (D-A) ensemble.
- Solid experience with common analytical and purification methods (NMR, UV-Vis, Cyclic Voltammetry, HPLC, MS).
- Good command of written and spoken English.
