We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research group at Universität Bern. Our team is focused on understanding the mechanisms of cell polarity in the developing grass leaf.
About the Project
The successful candidate will work on a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, investigating the role of cell polarity in leaf epidermal development in the model grass Brachypodium distachyon. The project aims to identify protein interactors of BdPOLAR and two additional polarized scaffold proteins relevant for formative divisions and morphogenesis of epidermal cells in the grass leaf.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on cell polarity programs in the developing grass leaf
- Identify protein interactors of BdPOLAR and other polarized scaffold proteins using IP-MS and proximity labelling approaches
- Collaborate with the research group to achieve project goals
Requirements
- PhD in biology or equivalent
- Experience in protein biochemistry and plant development
- Strong background in plant cell biology, microscopy, and genetics
